Elderly women have been forced to do the job of providing proper toilets for their households themselves while the Eastern Cape government claims it is blissfully unaware of the shocking lack of accountability over a tender for long-hoped for services for the community of Ward 6 in Ntsizwa in Mount Ayliff in rural Transkei.

Gauteng Democratic Alliance (DA) Spokesperson for Social Development and the Environment, Hendrika Kruger, expressed her dismay at the Gauteng Premier’s justification for wasting money on World Cup Soccer tickets for schools, orphanages, amateur sports clubs and special homes. Kruger said that despite the apparent good intentions involved in buying these tickets, this money would have been much better spent on urgently and desperately needed social projects.
