Sizwe Mchunu, MPP
DA KZN leader
I formally requested a meeting with ANC KZN Chair Zweli Mkhize today to discuss rising levels of political intolerance against our party by members of the ANC.
Last week, three members of the ANC distributed inflammatory pamphlets in Swayimane urging members of the community not to welcome a DA contingent.
The DA had gone to the area to sympathise with a group of elderly rape victims.
Late last year, the DA was again prevented from visiting the president’s multi-million rand Nkandla homestead.
The DA had gone to the area to see first-hand how taxpayers’ money had been used to fund the president’s private residence.
No political party has the right to prevent another from going out into communities.
The DA in KZN hopes that these bilateral talks will lead to a more politically tolerant climate in KZN.
