Anthony Benadie MPL
Provincial Leader – Mpumalanga
The 24th of April is D-Day for Mbombela residents of Wards 17 and 30, when they will head to the polls to elect a new ward councillor to represent their interests.
Over the past weeks, the DA has campaigned vigorously in both these wards, which were previously held by the DA. Our campaign has been characterised by a massive DA blue wave presence in our ongoing commitment to serving the needs of the people. Our campaign has totally over-shadowed the ANC, the only other party contesting these elections.
We have selected the best candidates who carry the interests of their communities at heart to serve on the Mbombela local council.
Both Werner Le Grange (Ward 17) and Trudie Grové-Morgan (Ward 30) have proven track records of serving their communities, they embody the DA’s values and principles and are ready to continue doing so as directly elected representatives in these wards.
During the local government elections the DA obtained 80,62% of the vote in Ward 17, and 68,4% in Ward 30. With the continued support of our voters, we can further this mandate.
The DA calls on every registered voter in these wards to assume responsibility for the outcome of Wednesday’s election, by not only ensuring that they keep their ward DA, but also ensuring that they retain a strengthened opposition within the Mbombela council.
Voters who are unsure of where to cast their vote, can SMS only their ID number to 32810 (IEC Line), and they will receive a response indicating at which voting station they can cast their ballot.
