The attack of a five year old girl-child on her way from school in Capricorn Park Village is a cause of major concern for the Democratic Alliance.

It is extremely unbelievable that this child would be walking  through bushes alone about a kilometre on her way from school.

This is not the first time that a child falls victim to attack because they have to walk through the bushes to and from school.

It happened in Sebitja, where four learners from Sebitja High School in Ga-Molapo Village have been raped walking to, and from school in the last two years.

It is now exceedingly clear that the bushy pathways in between schools and villages are becoming hotspots for criminals to target school children.

The DA urges the MEC of Education Mr. Dickson Masemola to immediately identify areas where learners need to walk through bushes to school and make transport available in those areas.

The police must also act without delay in apprehending those involved in this gruesome incident.
