DA Limpopo opposes SADTU’s interference with the law

Jacques Smalle MP

DA Limpopo Provincial Leader

The DA takes strong exception to reports that a SADTU branch is allegedly interfering in fraud case against a teacher of Morobeng School in Soekmekaar.

According to Capricorn Voice newspaper this teacher faces charges of fraud amounting to thousands of rands belonging to Itshomeleng Public School.

The principal at this school has allegedly been intimidated by this SADTU branch in an effort to coerce him to withdraw the case.

The DA fully upholds the right of everyone to be presumed innocent before being found guilty in a court of law. This however does not give pressure groups like SADTU the right to interfere in the court processes.

SADTU members should be mainly concerned about teaching the learners rather than taking it upon themselves to subvert the law by protecting their cronies.

A case of intimidation and obstruction of justice must fully be investigated and charges brought against the implicated SADTU members.
