DA Limpopo welcomes new premier

Jacques Smalle MP

DA Limpopo Provincial Leader

The Democratic Alliance Limpopo welcomes today’s inauguration of Mr. Stanley Mathabatha as the new premier of the province.

Mr. Mathabata has a tough job ahead of him as he takes over a province which has failed to provide service delivery for its people in many respects because it was run into the gutter by his predecessor.

The Democratic assures the new premier its full support on matters of governance. We are, however, going to continue with our effective oversight and constructive opposition.

His first task is to fire the education MEC, Mr. Dickson Masemola under whose watch textbooks could not be delivered on time to learners in Limpopo for two years in succession.

If Mr. Mathabatha is serious about clean governance he will also fire Ms. Pinky Kekana who, as MEC of Raods and Transport, was implicated by the Public Protector’s Report which found wrong doing in this department.

We will continue to hold this executive accountable, like we did with the previous incumbent, to make sure that service delivery is improved in Limpopo.
