An ANC member of the Provincial Legislature and the Chairperson of the portfolio committee on Public Administration, Mr. Charles Sekoati is also benefitting from the leases that the provincial government is paying to Mr. Demetrios Kourtoumbelle.

Mr Kourtoumbelle currently receives 71% of the total provincial budget of R1.8 billion paid by Limpopo Department of Public works to lease buildings.

According to the report tabled this week before SCOPA, Mr. Sekoati is a director of Alpha-Veta Entertainment Enterprises, a company which is paid over a million a month for rental from 2008 and running up to 2018.

However, according to the latest available public declaration made by Mr. Sekoati on April 2010, the directorship to Alpha-Veta is not mentioned.

The DA will be writing to the Public Protector to call for an urgent ethics probe into this deal to establish whether there are politicians who are benefitting from the leases to Mr. Kourtoumbelle.
