Premier Mathabatha must re-open all the corruption cases

Jacques Smalle MP

DA Limpopo Provincial Leader

The New Premier , Stan Mathabatha must re-open all the investigations which were blocked by his predecessor, Cassel Mathale to probe all the top civil servants early this year.

Mathale refused to establish disciplinary actions against several heads of departments accused of corruption and other officials who were also implicated in various corrupt activities.

The Premier must ensure that all the pending cases against corrupt officials are finalised and actions must also be taken against them.

Mathabatha must ensure that no officials do business with government without declaring their business interests. Those who fails to do that must be blacklisted.

The DA believes that stringent measures must also be put in place to deal with the procurement and supply chain management.

Individuals seating in those committees must be rotated on the regular basis to avoid tenders being awarded to friends and close pals of senior officials and the ruling party.

The time is now for new Premier Mathabatha to fix the mess left by his predecessor by ensuring that there is transparency and accountability in all the departments and municipalities.
