Anthony Benadie MPL
Provincial Leader – Mpumalanga
Note: The following member’s testament was made by Anthony Benadie to the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature
This week, the people of Thembisile Hani have opened their arms and their hearts to the Provincial Legislature. They have warmly welcomed us to their community and have been sharing their life joy and challenges with members of the house.
We appreciate this and we owe gratitude to the people of Thembisile Hani Municipality, especially given some of the inconvenience which this programme brings with it, like road closures and other security measures.
In this light, and in appreciating the warmness of the people of Thembisile Hani, I wish to, on their behalf, make a passionate call on all members, MECs and the premier: Please do not kill the people of Thembisile with your blue light brigades.
This morning, several motorists, including me became victims of Premier Mabuza’s convoy, which was skipping stop signs and pushing motorists off the road and out the way. There was clearly no emergency and the premier’s life was in no danger, yet, he and his blue light bullies selfishly endangers the lives of others.
The Moloto road is already notorious for its high road deaths, please don’t add to that statistic due to your self-imposed, arrogant sense of self importance. If you have an appointment, get up earlier and arrive on time.
