DA thanks PUTCO for assistance with Moloto bus crash survivors

James Masango MPL

Provincial Chief Whip of the Official Opposition

The DA wishes to thank commuter transport operator PUTCO for their assistance in providing the best possible medical care for victims of last week’s horror accident along the R573 Moloto Road.

Late yesterday afternoon the last two survivors were transferred from the Philadelphia Hospital in Dennilton to the Netcare Montana Private Hospital in Pretoria, and will receive the best medical care and treatment for their injuries.

Following our visit to crash survivors at the Philadelphia Hospital last week, the DA engaged with PUTCO management requesting the company assistance for two patients, who both had to undergo operations for multiple fractures.

Being closely aware of the shortcomings of public health care in Mpumalanga and at the Philadelphia Hospital, and that these patients, a man and a woman, could potentially wait months before receiving sufficient treatment, the DA believes that providing them with private medical care, they, and the other survivors, would make the best possible recovery.

We wish each and every survivor of this accident a speedy return to good health, and reiterate our thanks to the management and staff of PUTCO, and that without them, would not have been possible.
