Doctors not paid at Jabulani Hospital

A crisis is developing at the newly opened Zola Jabulani Hospital in Soweto as doctors there have not been paid.

The weekend of 24 – 25 May there were no doctors on duty and patients were diverted elsewhere.

The hospital has been dogged by controversy after long building delays, and then a rushed opening shortly before the elections.

It’s really a pity that management problems are crippling this new hospital which is needed to take the strain off the over-crowded Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.

New Health MEC Qedani Mahlangu must step in and ensure that all staff members are paid in time at this hospital.
