Limpopo finally implements DA proposals on corruption

Jacques Smalle, MPL

DA Limpopo Provincial Leader

The Limpopo government will finally implement the DA’s proposal to prevent corruption by banning all politicians and officials from doing business with government.

This was confirmed by the Treasury MEC, Rudolph Phala, today during legislature debate on the State of the Province Address.

The DA has long been calling for such legislation. It will help to put a stop to the corruption that is eating away at this province.

We introduced two private members bills between 2010 and 2012 to put this proposal on the table and we are happy that the ANC has finally followed our lead. The DA-run government in the Western Cape implemented this policy 5 years ago already in the Western Cape.

We will actively participate in the discussions around this proposal to make sure it is implemented properly.

The DA will be keenly monitoring whether Premier Stanley Mathabatha implements this policy.
