School high rate dropout soon to stop – DA

With at least 100 000 learners  dropping out, of school in between Gr 10 and 12 for a variety of reasons, the Democratic Alliance has drafted a resolution in the Limpopo provincial Legislature in a bid to reduce the current high dropout rate.

The DA established these disturbing figures in the 2013 National Basic Education Departments’ School Reality Report.

According to the DA, the resolution would ensure that the root causes of learner-dropouts are understood, significantly decrease the high dropout rate especially among female pupils and further improve their career and economic prospects.

This indicates the proactive nature of the DA in its attempt to reduce unemployment, improve quality of education and empower young people to create an Open opportunity society for all.
