Tshwane must re-coup Dinokeng TribeOne millions for service delivery

DA Constituency Head: Cullinan

The Democratic Alliance (DA) urges the City of Tshwane to re-coup the millions of rands spent on the Dinokeng TribeOne concert and direct this to service delivery in the area.

This is after organisers of the concert cancelled it at the last minute despite attempts by the city to push ahead.

While the city now faces a court battle, the DA has strongly advocated that this concert should have been considered wasteful and fruitless expenditure from the beginning.

The city was forced to spend enormous amounts of money on building roads and installing water lines, electricity and other infrastructure after organisers chose a piece of privately-owned land with no services.

This, while residents of the affected area in Cullinan face poverty and unemployment.

The City of Tshwane owes this community an explanation, as well as the millions of rands which could have been spent on their upliftment and development.
