The DA called on Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi to consult with his roads and transport counterpart Ismail Vadi to implement traffic calming and safe crossing measures at the Fochville Secondary School.
The school, scheduled to open its doors in 2015, is built along a major provincial road that intersects with the N12, and to date, there are no road markings, traffic signs or pedestrian crossings
In fact, there is one road sign indicating a speed limit of 40km/h just metres before the school’s main gate.

It is widely understood that the very best science and math teachers were recruited for this very beautiful facility, and that learners can look forward to quality education and lay the foundation for a better life.
The DA urges the provincial government to act, before this commendable effort to bring about a better life is marred by the unnecessary deaths of learners.
