DA to introduce a Bill to ban blue lights brigade

Media Advisory:

Tomorrow, 01 April 2015, the DA will brief the media on our plan to introduce a private member’s bill to restrict the use of blue lights and the use of sirens on motor vehicle transporting official bearers.

This bill is long overdue in the province given the fact that Limpopo is losing its government officials and citizens to road fatalities.

The bill will be introduced by the DA Legislature Caucus, provincial leader Jacques Smalle , Langa Bodlani and Katlego Phala to the Provincial Legislature for debate.

In the DA-governed Western Cape, we have banned the use of blue lights on vehicles transporting office bearers, except in cases of imminent danger.

Date: 01 April 2015
Time:  10h00
Venue: DA Provincial offices, 19b Hans Van Rensburg opposite LEDET

There will be many opportunities for photographs and interviews
