Limpopo police must act swiftly on armed robberies, community must help… DA

By: Katlego Suzan Phala (MPL) Spokesperson for Safety and Security In the wake of the recent planned armed robberies in Polokwane filling stations, the Democratic Alliance will engage with the Polokwane Police to increase police visibility in the city to help reduce and curb these robberies before they start spreading like wild fire. The two robberies that were committed in the last three days are widely broadcasted on CCVTV footage which clearly shows that these crimes were carefully organised. Even worse, it appears that the suspects seem to have studied the movements of police patrols to ensure that they are out of the way during the time of robbery. The DA calls on police in Polokwane to swiftly investigate these cases to prevent trending of robberies in the city. We also call on communities to assist with information that could lead to the arrests of these criminals before a life could be lost in the process of armed robberies. The DA will closely monitor the investigations of these two cases and hopes that the police bring the criminals to book.
