DA action restores hot water to Carletonville hospital

By Ina Cilliers MPL, DA Constituency Head for Merafong:

Hot water has now been restored to the Carletonville hospital, while repairs to restore hot water to the residence will be completed at the end of this month.

The Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID) became aware of the problem last year, but pressure from the DA forced the department to take action in February of this year.

MEC for GDID, Nandi Mayathula-Khoza, in a written reply indicated the hot water repairs for the hospital cost R3.9 million, while repair to the residence are expected to come in at R2.2 million.

The DA will continue to ensure that provincial departments carry out their mandate and are held to account.
