Today, Minister Schäfer will visit Siviwe School of Skills in Gugulethu and will be conducting a tour of the school to see what the facility has to offer.
The educational needs of our children in the Western Cape are diverse and not everyone can or wishes to follow a purely academic education. It is therefore important that alternative pathways such as bricklaying, welding & metalwork, woodwork & carpentry, hairdressing, needlework & clothing and hospitality are offered.
These schools provide an opportunity for our learners to create an alternative career path by developing their vocational skills.
Today, Minister Schäfer will be visiting the Siviwe School of Skills in Gugulethu, a school that serves the communities of Guguletu, Nyanga, Phillipi, Mfuleni and Langa. The visit will include a tour of the schools facilities.
Date: Tuesday 18th August 2015
Venue: Siviwe School of Skills, NY 82, Section 2, Gugulethu
All media are invited to attend.
There will be opportunities for photographs and interviews.
