Today, Monday, 3 August 2015, Minister of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant, and Executive Mayor of the Stellenbosch Municipality, Alderman Conrad Sidego, will officially open the Vlaeberg and Lynedoch Roads in Stellenbosch.
This R215 million project has been an example of partnerships between various stakeholders, and will not only see improved access for motorists, but also improved levels of safety with 8 level crossings having been eliminated as part of the project. The project has been two years in the making, having begun in July 2013. The project is likely to have far-reaching economic benefits for the greater Stellenbosch area, in the many years to come.
Minister Grant and Mayor Sidego will preside over the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Minister Grant will also deliver the key note address focussed on the project and its various milestones.
