By Michele Clarke MPL, DA Gauteng Spokesperson for Community Safety:
The DA is deeply saddened by the death of two more police officials killed in this morning in Dobsonville, Soweto.
According to reports, the policeman died of his wounds and his partner died in after criminals opened fire on them during a robbery.
This incident comes just three days after the country mourned the death of 57 policemen killed in the last year.
The DA condemns the killing of police officers who every day put their lives on the line to protect the country’s citizens, and calls on the public to provide police with any information they may have about criminals who hide among law-abiding citizens.
Enough is enough, and the time has come for every South African to say that criminals will not be tolerated to hide in our communities anymore.
Each and every one of us has to stand behind our brave men and women in blue and cooperate with them to bring criminals to book.
