“Proactive governance will make empower women”

  • Departmental targets that fall under victim empowerment are horrible indicators of how our society is losing its moral fibre.
  • The departments of Social Development, Community Safety and Economic Development need to do more to ensure that more women are able to speak up and remove themselves from harmful situations.
  • As South Africans we in positions of power should not allow women and children to live in fear – a fear which them keeps them imprisoned.
  • Residents would no longer need to feel like victims, but prosperous members of society – free from worry and harm.

16 Days of Activism: 365 days of respect needed

  • Violence and abuse towards women and children in this country is the biggest indictment on our democracy.
  • If government cannot guarantee that cases of abuse will be treated with the utmost seriousness then it sends a message to abusers that they will not be punished and to victims that they have nowhere to turn.
  • Violence against women and children is everyone’s problem
