Tomorrow, 21 October, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo will launch a R100 million expansion and upgrade of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. The sod turning ceremony will be led by Western Cape Government Health and the Children’s Hospital Trust.
The largest PICU in Africa, the expansion will see the 22-bed facility increased to 39 bed spaces, which will include a 10-bed High Care Unit for neonates and isolation cubicles.
Minister Mbombo will deliver the keynote address at this event.
