DA welcomes Bozwana suspects facing the law

By Dr Tutu Faleni (MPL), DA North West Safety Spokesperson:

The Democratic Alliance in the North West applauds the police for their work in arresting two suspects in the murder of Wandile Bozwana, who appeared in the Pretoria Magistrates Court today.

While the criminal investigation proceeds, the investigation around Bozwana’s murder should include life-style audits of high-ranking politicians and officials involved in North West tender allocations because Bozwana’s murder is increasingly appearing to be politically motivated.

Bozwana received in excess of R1 billion worth of contracts from the North West provincial and North West local governments and was involved in government-awarded projects estimated at R305 million at the time of his death.

Bozwana took the provincial government to court on numerous occasions. Shortly before his death he won a court case to attach a state bank account with a R30 million balance and 44 vehicles belonging to the North West Public Works Department, over a disputed payment.

The DA commends the efforts and hard work of the police in apprehending the suspects; and we trust that the police will speedily progress with their investigation to bring this matter to trial.
