On Tuesday, 24 November 2015, Democratic Alliance Mpumalanga Youth Chairperson, Cllr Muso Kubheka, will lead a march calling for the return of specialised police units to deal with drug related crimes in Mpumalanga.
The astronomical increase in drug-related crimes is a stark reason why specialised crime units needs to be re-established. The use of drugs by young people brings many risks including them getting involved in criminal activities.
The high rate of illicit drug use among the youth has also increased steadily.
The DA will submit a petition to the SAPS calling for the establishment of specialised police units to deal with drug related crimes.
The march will take place as follows:
Date: Tuesday, 24 November 2015
Start Venue: Lillian Ngoyi Centre, Secunda Sports Ground
End Venue: Secunda Police Station
GPS Coordinate: 26°30?58?S 29°12?10?E
There will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
