By Herman Groenewald (MP), DA Constituency Leader, Rustenburg:
The Democratic Alliance has shown remarkable electoral growth in yesterday’s by-election in Rustenburg, North West.
The DA made a clean sweep at the polls with an 86.5% majority win. The ANC only managed to claim 8% of the votes and the FF+ 5.34%
This DA win will see Martin Coetzee installed as a new DA ward councillor in the Rustenburg Municipality.
These results are a clear sign that the DA continues to grow in key battleground municipalities and wards ahead of the 2016 elections, and in this round of by-elections the DA has grown significantly across South Africa. The stage is set for Election 2016 where the DA will make significant inroads into the ANC’s support.
The DA thanks every single one of our supporters who contributed to yesterday’s successful results.
This momentum bodes well for Election 2016 for the DA.
