Western Cape appoints first Independent Health Complaints Committee in the country

On Monday, 23 November 2015, Western Cape Minister of Health, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo will announce the very first Independent Health Complaints Committee.

This committee is a direct response to the commitment to the provision of person-centred healthcare in South Africa.

 

This three member committee has been appointed in accordance with the Western Cape Independent Health Complaints Committee Act, No 2 of 2014.

This Act was promulgated to provide for the establishment of a system for the referral of complaints to a committee for consideration.

This Committee will revolutionise the way we deal with complaints as a department.

Minister Mbombo will introduce the Committee during a Press Conference.
