DA shows 250% growth in Tzaneen by election

By Jacques Smalle MPL, DA Limpopo Leader:

The DA in Limpopo has once again grown our support, in yesterday’s by election in Tzaneen Ward 24, recording a 250% increase in the number of votes received since the last election in that Ward.

The DA percentage of the total vote has grown from 6% in 2014 to 21 % support yesterday. This growth is a clear indication that more and more voters in Limpopo want to see a change and that change will be brought by the DA.

This is a triumph for the DA as it continues to grow in all areas of South Africa, winning more and more votes from the ANC.

The DA, guided by its values of freedom, fairness and opportunity will continue to work tirelessly in this ward and across the entire province until each and every citizen of Limpopo experiences the DA alternative of a better future.

The DA is the only party in South Africa with a proven good track record in government. The DA is South Africa’s most diverse party and increasingly the party of choice for South Africans who want to see change.

On behalf of the DA in Limpopo, I would like to thank all those voters who went to the polls in their numbers to vote for the DA. A special vote of thanks also goes to those DA activists who put all their efforts to make sure that our campaign was successful.

DA Mayoral Candidate Nelson Mandela Bay

Bobby Stevenson (MPL),

Deputy provincial leader:

The DA has begun the process of electing a mayoral candidate for Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality.  The DA is an open opportunity party and any suitable person is welcome to apply for the position and will go through our selection process.

Applications need to be in by Tuesday, 31 March 2015 at 17:00.  Applications can be made online at http://apply.da.org.za

It is expected that the electoral college will sit in April.

We believe that the Nelson Mandela Metropole can be won by the DA in 2016, and we are thus starting our processes early so we can build momentum in the run-up to the election.

We are going to work flat-out to bring change to the Nelson Mandela Municipality.  Under a DA government Nelson Mandela Bay will be a place of rising opportunity for all:  where service delivery goes up and corruption goes down; where employment is created and crime is eradicated; where decent houses are erected and bucket toilets are eliminated.

We will restore pride in our metro and establish the right culture of governance.
